cartoons rule
Lucky Canadians. Pepsi is being nice to our northern neighbors. They’ve decided to start a promotion this weekend giving away an iPod every hour of every day of every week of every month until Christmas. SOB. Why can’t the US get such a cool promotion? I might actually start drinking more Pepsi, and I don’t even drink much coke anyway.
John Woo. It seems he’s going to produce and direct a new movie based on the popular 80s cartoon He-Man. Yeah, the same He-Man which I grew up on! I like many John Woo films and I believe he’ll give this adaptation justice, but I hope he steers VERY far away from the 1987 version.
He has also been attached the the Metroid project. Metroid is pretty much one of my top 5 Nintendo games I used to love back in the infant days of the Nintendo. It pretty much is a cult classic as well. Video games made into feature films don’t seem to fair too well sometimes, i.e. Super Mario Brothers and Street Fighter.
Ya know, I love IMDB.com. I’m sure I’ve referenced it here more than I’ve referenced any website. It’s just a great place to throw away hours of time. So, anyway, while I’ve been on the topic of video games and cartoons, have you ever read the credits of those voice actors that used to be your favorite Transformer, G.I. Joe, or Voltron character? Well, it seems that there are a few people who absolutely dominate that side of the industry. Peter Cullen, Tress MacNeille, Billy West, and Frank Welker just to name a few of the contemporaries. I think one of the most famous voice over actors is Mel Blanc, who imfamously voiced Bugs Bunny and Co. Anyway, take a look and see how everyone is so connected to each other!
